Alexander Duggan
Alex, known by most as Zands, attended the Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London as a teenager. He then went on study for a degree in orchestral percussion at the Guildhall. Here, Alex found his passion for hand percussion from different cultures which was nurtured by his teacher Bosco D'Oliveira.
He spent a year at Boston's Berklee College of Music as a result of being awarded a hand percussion scholarship by their 'World Scholarship Tour'.
He has played with Afro Caribbean and South American artists such as Victor Mendoza, Bebo Valdes and Eguie Castrillo. As well as touring to South America, he has spent time studying the congas in Havana.
